A calendar comes out once a year. So how could it be a project that lasts ALL year?
Very easily when it's the Hooters Calendar. For 12 years the Hooters Calendar was my primary project utilizing all of my talent. Design was only a part of the process. Each year started in February with the first click of the camera. By July there were tens of thousands of photos to archive and organize. I directed many photo shoots and have become quite the photo assistant in return. I have booked travel, researched locations, built props and even designed swimsuits. And all of this happens before the actual calendar is designed.
Then for a few weeks in late summer it all comes together in a beautiful 18 page calendar. Once the calendar is released in early October it's time to sell, sell, sell. I would produce the marketing materials used at the individual restaurants to promote the sale of the calendar and the calendar girl tour in December.
Then before your know it...it's February again.
